Group reports in each

Advanced groups companies in Spreadsheet Sync, Intuit's add-in that sends QuickBooks reports into Excel. You create a group, choose one currency for it, tick the companies and build multi-company reports. It combines three reports: Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss and Trial Balance. A cash flow statement is not on Intuit's list, and on Advanced the add-in works with Excel only.

Accounts combine only when name, type and hierarchy level match, so Intuit says to make each chart of accounts as identical as possible. Intuit's help says Spreadsheet Sync multi-company reports are for QuickBooks Online Advanced, and that Simple Start, Essentials and Plus companies can also be added to a group; whether every company needs Advanced is not stated.

Intuit Enterprise Suite shows consolidated profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow statement and A/R and A/P aging summaries inside the product.

Intercompany eliminations in Intuit's two products

In Intuit Enterprise Suite you choose, for each company, the accounts used only for intercompany items, and Intuit removes their full balances from consolidated reports from then on. If an account also holds ordinary items, the removal is manual: you adjust an Eliminations column in a downloaded spreadsheet, and Intuit says those adjustments are not posted back.

Intuit's Spreadsheet Sync articles describe no elimination step for Advanced. Intuit tells readers to ask an accountant or check current accounting standards before choosing which accounts to eliminate.

Price, trial and moving over

Intuit's pricing page lists Advanced at $340 a month per company, with a 30-day free trial for new customers on a monthly plan. Intuit Enterprise Suite has no public price: Intuit builds a bundle and an agreement with you, and its pricing page offers a call in place of a trial.

Take a property group with twelve single-property LLCs, each a QuickBooks Online company. Moving to Intuit Enterprise Suite means an agreement built with Intuit, Intuit's help to migrate data and an account manager who links the companies; Intuit says it supports no entities outside the US at this time. Staying on QuickBooks Online keeps twelve separate subscriptions.

Joiin as a third option for a QuickBooks group

Joiin leaves each QuickBooks Online file where it is and adds consolidated profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reports on every plan. Core is $77 a month for 5 companies, billed monthly. Its pricing page lists Intuit Enterprise Suite among the systems it connects.
