What is Joiin?
Joiin is cloud software for multi-entity financial consolidation and reporting. If you own or run several companies, each with its own set of books, Joiin connects to those books and builds one group view: a combined profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow, plus the same reports for each company beside the total. Joiin's consolidations page says it handles a few entities or an unlimited structure, and lists franchises, property groups, hospitality and professional services among the groups it is built for.
The name is spelled with two i's. Searches for it sometimes return pages about an unrelated word, so check the spelling when you look for its pages.
Joiin's pages describe two audiences: owners and finance teams reporting on their own group of companies, and accountants who manage reports for many clients. These guides cover the first audience.
How the Joiin workflow works in five steps
- Connect: you sign up, authorize each company in your accounting system and choose which ones join the group. The Xero App Store listing describes this as clicking Get this app, creating a Joiin account and authorizing the companies to include.
- Sync: Joiin pulls account data from Xero daily or on demand, according to that listing. The data includes accounts, invoices, credit notes, bank transactions, budgets, currencies and tracking categories.
- Map: you align the charts of accounts so the same kind of account lines up across companies for group reporting.
- Eliminate: you remove intercompany loans and transactions and set an ownership percentage for any partly owned company.
- Report: you run group reports and share them as dashboards or report packs.
What Joiin connects to
The pricing page lists accounting integrations for Xero, QuickBooks, Intuit Enterprise Suite, Sage, MYOB, FreeAgent, Puzzle, Pennylane, Zoho Books and Fortnox. Spreadsheets are a source too, which matters for a company that is not on a supported accounting system. On the output side Joiin lists an Excel add-in, an API and Zapier connection that can feed Power BI and Tableau, and MCP access for AI assistants. The pricing page places the Excel add-in on Pro and Max and the API, Zapier and MCP connections on Max.
What Joiin produces
- Financial reports: profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, trial balance and KPIs.
- Sales and purchasing reports, including receivables and payables aging across the group.
- Budgets compared with actuals on every plan, and forecasting on Pro and Max.
- Report packs: branded, board-style documents built from several reports, shown live or exported to PDF or Excel.
- Dashboards and an AI assistant that answers questions about the reports.
What Joiin is not, and where its limits are
Joiin is not an accounting system or a general ledger. Each company keeps its own books in Xero, QuickBooks or another system, and Joiin builds the group view from them. It is also not a tax filing tool. A consolidated income tax return is a separate IRS process, in which each subsidiary consents to being included on Form 1122, and the reports Joiin produces do not replace it. Ask a tax professional how your group files.
