Joiin review: what it does for a company group, where its limits are and who it fits

What Joiin does for owners of several QuickBooks Online or Xero companies, which plan features matter, where it stops and who it fits, read October 30, 2026.

Last materially reviewed 2026-10-30

Quick answerJoiin connects to several companies' accounting files and builds one consolidated profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow, with account mapping and intercompany eliminations. It is priced by company count and starts with a 14-day free trial. It reads your books rather than replacing them, so it fits owners who want group reports without a monthly spreadsheet rebuild.
Joiin is likely to fit when

✓ Owners and finance leads with 5 to 10 companies on QuickBooks Online or Xero who rebuild group numbers in Excel each month

✓ Groups that need account mapping, intercompany eliminations and ownership percentages without changing accounting systems

✓ Teams that want a board-style report pack and a free trial before paying

✓ Groups with a second currency or foreign subsidiaries that need a plan with multiple reporting currencies

Important limitations

— Single-company businesses

— Two or three small companies with matching accounts, where Excel is enough

— Groups that want the consolidation booked as journal entries in a QuickBooks ledger

— Groups ready to move to one ERP for all companies

Joiin review: what it is and what it does

Joiin is cloud software for consolidated financial reporting. You connect each company's accounting file, tell Joiin which companies belong to the group, map their charts of accounts to one another and run group reports: profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow, trial balance and KPIs, with each company shown beside the total. Joiin's pages list connections to Xero, QuickBooks Online, Intuit Enterprise Suite, Sage, MYOB, FreeAgent, Zoho Books, Pennylane, Puzzle and Fortnox, plus spreadsheets.

This review is built from Joiin's own pages, its listing on the Xero App Store US site and its pricing page, all read on October 30, 2026.

Strengths: what the vendor lists

  • Consolidation: account mapping and intercompany eliminations are listed on every plan. Joiin's intercompany page describes eliminating loans and transactions between companies at company or group level.
  • Partial ownership: you can assign an ownership percentage to each entity, which is how Joiin's intercompany page says it handles partly owned subsidiaries.
  • Reports: financial statements, sales and purchasing reports, budgets, custom layouts, dashboards and report packs that export to PDF, CSV or Excel.
  • Users: the pricing page lists unlimited users, reports and clients on every plan and no per-user charge, so adding a finance colleague or an outside adviser does not change the bill.
  • Sync: the Xero App Store listing says Joiin pulls account data from Xero daily or on demand.

Limits and checks before you start

  • Plan features: multi-currency reporting, forecasting, the Excel add-in, global search and AI agents sit on Pro and Max, and your own exchange rates, the API and Zapier connection and MCP sit on Max. A group with foreign subsidiaries should read the plan grid before the price.
  • Reports, not a ledger: Joiin's pages describe reports and packs built from data it syncs, not journal entries posted back into your accounting files. JustConsolidate takes the opposite approach and books the consolidation into a QuickBooks company.
  • Pages disagree: the Xero App Store listing says all features are included on every plan, while the pricing page puts some features on Pro or Max. The pricing page grid is the more detailed statement.
  • Vendor-written proof: Joiin's comparison page carries case studies, such as a group of 31 QuickBooks Online entities consolidated in under 30 minutes. These are Joiin's claims about its customers, not results you can expect.

How the free trial and plan choice work

The pricing page says every Joiin trial runs on the Max plan for 14 days, with no credit card and no plan to pick at the start. When the 14 days end you choose Core, Pro or Max inside the app. Your data, connections and reports stay as they are, and if you pick Core or Pro the features specific to higher plans stop. You can change plan later, and the change takes effect on your next billing date.

That makes the trial the real test: connect your actual companies and run the consolidated report you now build by hand. The Joiin pricing guide explains how the bill is built from company count and plan.

Who Joiin fits, and who should pick something else

  • Fits: owners and in-house finance leads with several companies on QuickBooks Online or Xero who rebuild group numbers in Excel every month and want mapping, eliminations and reports without moving to an ERP.
  • Consider a spreadsheet if you run two or three small companies with matching charts of accounts and few intercompany items. The QuickBooks Online consolidation steps show that route.
  • Consider JustConsolidate if you want the consolidated books to live in a QuickBooks company with journal entries and traceability.
  • Consider Intuit Enterprise Suite if you are ready to move the whole group onto one system. Intuit's page lists multi-entity management and consolidated reporting.
  • Compare named rivals in Joiin vs Fathom and the best financial consolidation software.
